Yes it is safe to visit South Africa. It is true that there is a high level of crime in parts of the country, but the most violent crimes occur in townships and isolated areas away from the normal tourist destinations. The routes we will take you, or the locations we ride, will be completely safe.

We all strive to be good riders! If you are confident on a bike then you should be OK. Some optional sections of the routes will require skill and caution. We will assess your skills as we ride and will determine if there are any sections less confident riders may struggle with.

Our tour groups typically accommodate 6-8 riders. Prices are based on us making up the group to 8 riders. The minimum group size is 6 riders. If you are less than 8 and require a solus tour, the price will be amended accordingly.

Our tours require all participants to acknowledge and respect other riders in the group. We will do our best to ensure all riding levels are catered for within a group.

A full UK passport holder (with a passport valid for 30 days beyond your intended departure date fro South Africa) is not required to have a Visa to enter South Africa. Upon entry, you are granted a Visitors Temporary Permit which is valid for a period of up to three months.

The same applies to most European countries as well as the USA, Canada and Australia. Please consult your travel agent for further advice. Whilst in South Africa, you can use your passport or driving licence as ID if required.

All participant must make arrangements for adequate travel insurance to financially safeguard against unforeseen circumstances. We will be in remote areas where hospitals may be hundreds of kilometers or hours away. In the event of a serious accident, helicopter recovery may be required.

We do not accept responsibility for any loss, injury, damage, accident, fatality, delay or inconvenience experienced whilst on tour. You will be required to complete and sign a full indemnity prior to commencement of the tour.

All participants on our tours are required to have a full and valid driving licence for a motorcycle with a capacity of 500cc or greater. A drivers license issued in any country other than South Africa (RSA), is valid to drive within the RSA. A UK drivers licence is valid in South Africa.

If you are partaking in our Enduro Bike Tours, no licence is required.
